I believe it's about money. Way too much money involved to not suspect manipulation by somebody; could be anybody.
That much money infers a very large amount of power and persuasion. It's been that way for a long time. It's nothing new.

Absolutely ridiculous! Now I will admit that me and my buddies had a lot of jack riding on Pitt -5', but that aside. The call was horrendous! I agree, the first lateral was questionable, but after review I believe that it was legal, the rest of the play from there on out was like you said-crystal clear. Did the "ref" have something to do with the incorrect call? I think so. My opinion is that the "rich" NFL needs to make these "refs" full time employees. During the offseason they need to be reviewing rules, making rule changes and reviewing and reviewing tons of game tape so that in the future a play of this magnitude does not cost a team a game! Morale of the story- MAKE THEM FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE NFL-MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE!

I love your podcast, watch it every week, can't say that I bet with you every week..lol...but I do watch! Thanks for your time, and during your next broadcast throw me a shout out!

Love the site Dave. I live in Alabama (Roll Tide!) Been betting on sports for almost 20 years now. I do really well on the SEC, however so-so on the rest of the country and the NFL. I was all over the under in that TX Oklahoma game as well as you. In big games between heavyweights, usually the scores are low. Anyway, I love South Carolina, Lsu exposed a lot of weakness last week. Give it a shot. Like a said, keep up the good work on your site.I enjoy viewing it every week. If you ever need any help on games in the south let me know. Thanks, Keith

You are right on Arkansas, past season trends are useless anyway... just thought it was interesting trivia.

They are large lines this week just because I believe these are the best bets of the week. I think the lines are very sharp this week and most of the smaller lines are right where they should be with no edge in my opinion.

take a look at K St, they will roll

you said something along the lines of the Ark game hasn't been decided by that many points in 10 years, Ark also hasn't been this bad in 10 years.

why are most of your games very large lines?

Interesting subject. As the case goes with Stanford and Miami I don't feel as though they ran up the score. A good coach wants his players to play hard and put forth their best effort. Just because your ahead doesn't mean you stop trying. Running trick plays in those situation and trying to humiliate your opponent is wrong(not the case in these situations). Stanford manned up and ran strait at San Jose State, nothing wrong with that. Florida kicked a field goal, big deal. I do though have a problem with teams throwing the ball down the field and mixing up their playbook in those situations. It was interesting to hear Warren Sapp call out Urban Myer, in the opinions of many he and his Miami Hurricanes were "classless dirtbags". They were running up the scores in many games to impress the polsters(throwing bombs downfield).

this is why i am glad i have no alma mater. i dislike this notion that if you went to the school you have an etched in stone obligation to root for them. whats more, it can get very annoying when the influx of new fans appear but at the same time it is expected any time you have a winning team. for me, ive been a big trojan fan ever since i was a child and i remember living through the backlash that the sponsors and fans had when pete carroll was hired. I recall how many called for his head and how he came very close to being canned and yet i laugh at how easily these things are thrown under the rug when things are positive and the team is winning. clearly i was happier than any of the bandwagoners after the first of 2 national titles because there was more of an underlying meaning to it.

but instead of bashing the inevitable increase in fans i will only add that i find it very comical how people jump on a jockstrap when things are good. its time fans really questioned themselves why they root for a team and if they are rooting for the right reasons. but shit i cant ask and expect everyone to hear this call. its similar to dating. some people will be loyal to one, some people will be tempted move around, change from partner to partner like they change from team to team, some will actually use their heads and some will, some will put more passion into it than others, long periods, short periods, through the struggle, ditching the struggle, etc etc.

shit... if you attend or went to usc i just call that a good excuse. for me, i liked the coaching staff and expect competence from upper management. if you like the players on the rosters more power to ya but i dont agree with the idea that you are glued to that team because of some neccessity to be loyal, you just went to school there its not like you played for the damn team. the player rosters have drastically changed from top to bottom so this is obviously not the same team. but you know what, now that usc is a big powerhouse they will great for decades because in the college ranks there is no money involved. so its about power and they will get a heads up on the big recruits, making it much easier to be successful.

as far as im concerned, this loss is a blessing in disguise because it takes them out of that top spot and brings them back to reality. this is a team that keeps winning and established themselves as a big program, won national titles and had the top spot which made them the equivalent of the new england patriots of college. its possible they still will hold that ugly distinction but at least not moreso than if they were to keep winning.
