Rank Up/Down Record Team
9-0 Oregon – Oregon runs away with it after a slow start against Washington… just three games remain.
10-0 Auburn – Cam Newton allegations overshadowing great news; SEC West Title just a mere win over Georgia away with LSU’s upset of Alabama.
10-0 TCU – Simply destroyed Utah on the road, making a much louder statement than Boise State did in scratching by Virginia Tech earlier this year.
1 8-0 Boise State – Great win at home against Hawaii, but it was TCU’s day to shine. Boise State will have to have a similarly dominant effort when they face Nevada at the end of the month.
7 8-1 LSU – With win over Alabama, you can question this teams’ offense or call them lucky all you like, but the results have spoken for themselves this season.
1 8-1 Wisconsin – Fresh off the bye with big win over Purdue, and Indiana at home should be just as easy.
3 8-1 Stanford – Finally had a chance to prove how good they are against Arizona, and did so with flying colors. Look to be well on their way to a BCS Bowl Game.
3 8-1 Nebraska – Needed overtime to fend off pesky Iowa State on the road, but got the job done. Will need a sharper road effort at Texas A&M in two weeks.
1 8-1 Ohio State – Rested up for tough final stretch vs. Penn State, at Iowa, and vs. Michigan.
5 9-1 Michigan State – Bounced back from first loss of the season with comfortable blowout win against Minnesota, and now get a week off to prepare for final two games.
8 8-1 Oklahoma State – With big win over Baylor, the Cowboys control their fate in the Big 12 South.
7 7-2 Alabama – Still had a shot at defending their National Title, but lost it with their loss to LSU. If not for their comeback against Arkansas, this season could be even worse.
3 7-2 Iowa – Need to focus on Northwestern this week and not get caught looking ahead to the Ohio State game.
4 7-2 Arkansas – Convincing win over South Carolina shows off SEC West’s superiority; Arkansas still has an outside shot of making it into a BCS bowl.
9 8-1 Utah – No shame in losing to TCU, but getting completely destroyed at home in such a meaningful game? Bit of shame in that.
4 7-2 Mississippi State – Upset over Alabama this week isn’t completely out of the question if the Crimson Tide are still moping about last week’s loss.
4 7-2 Arizona – Wasn’t even able to muster up a fight against Stanford, and get another high-powered offense this week at home against USC.
3 7-2 Virginia Tech – Tough road trip ahead at UNC and Miami, but the Hokies appear to once again be the class of the ACC.
5 7-2 Missouri – Season appears to be unraveling a bit with loss at Texas Tech, but being back at home this week may help calm things down.
11 7-2 Oklahoma – Hard to believe this team was #1 in the nation not too long ago; the Sooners just don’t have what it takes to win on the road this season.
1 8-1 Nevada – Offense has really picked up their game since Hawaii loss; should be 10-1 by the time Boise State comes to town.
5 6-3 South Carolina – Signature win over Alabama earlier this season won’t mean much if the Gamecocks lose the SEC East to Florida this Saturday.
6-3 Texas A&M – 3-3 start put this team out of mind, but losses to Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Missouri are forgivable; and big win over Oklahoma was impressive.
6-3 Florida – Despite a 4-3 conference record, Florida is a win over South Carolina away from representing the SEC East in the SEC Championship Game.
3 7-3 Baylor – Bumped from most Top 25 lists after bad showing at Oklahoma State, but I don’t see anyone much more deserving of the final spot.

Dropped Out: Florida State (#24), North Carolina State (#25)
