Rank Up/Down Record Team
1 6-0 Boise State – This could finally be the year Boise State gets that Championship bid they’ve been waiting for. Just need to keep breezing through their easy schedule and rooting against the remaining undefeateds.
1 6-0 Oregon – UCLA shouldn’t be a problem this week, and then comes the big test at USC.
2 6-0 Oklahoma – Had no trouble at all dismantling Iowa State, and now they face a key road test in undefeated Missouri.
7-0 TCU – Have now held opponents without a touchdown for three straight games, outscoring CSU, Wyoming, and BYU by a combined 103-3. Air Force might be a little tougher, but TCU shouldn’t have much of a problem getting the win.
1 7-0 Auburn – Unbelievable offensive effort in win over Arkansas, and Cam Newton has soared to the top of the Heisman hopefuls list. How will he fare against LSU’s stingy defense?
2 6-1 Alabama – Took care of Ole Miss, and Tennessee shouldn’t be a problem, either. Still have LSU and Auburn ahead to win voters back over.
2 7-0 LSU – Freebie against McNeese St. out of the way, LSU now heads to Auburn in the week’s best and most intriguing matchup. Can Les and the Tigers pull another one out of their hat?
2 6-0 Utah – Cruising right along winning big every week, a home game against CSU this week shouldn’t be any different.
3 7-0 Michigan State – Convincing win over Illinois, and all of a sudden the surprise Spartans are just five games away from an undefeated season. Tough road trip to Northwestern and Iowa will likely decide their fate.
9 6-1 Ohio State – Had their destiny in their own hands, and wasted no time in blowing it. Looks like another just-short year for the Buckeyes.
9 6-1 Wisconsin – Jumped out to the early lead on Ohio State and never looked back. Huge win for Wisconsin, who can (clearly) beat anyone when they play their best, but just haven’t done so consistently enough.
2 5-1 Stanford – Easy one against Washington State this week to try and boost the defense’s morale before heading into Washington in two weeks.
2 5-1 Iowa – Had the answers for Denard Robinson, and the offense also showed poise late, too. Two very tough home games ahead in Wisconsin and Michigan State, but Iowa has the talent to take both.
2 6-1 Florida State – Uglier win that it should have been over Boston College, but a win all the same. Have a week off to prepare for their Thursday night game at NC State.
8 5-1 Nebraska – Had blown everyone out of the water to this point, but come up painfully short against Texas. Won’t have much time to sulk with a tough game at Oklahoma State ahead this week.
3 6-0 Oklahoma State – They’ve taken on all comers to this point and showed some rare defense against Texas Tech; have a chance to prove their doubters wrong this week with a meeting against Nebraska.
4 6-0 Missouri – Like Oklahoma State, Missouri has surprised a lot of people in winning their first six games. Do they have what it takes to upset Oklahoma and skyrocket up the rankings?
1 5-1 Arizona – Nick Foles won’t be able to start against Washington, making that game a lot more dangerous this week. The defense will have to step up.
8 4-2 South Carolina – Kentucky was looking like a let down spot, and South Carolina wasn’t able to overcome it. Should be able to get back on track this week at Vandy.
7 4-2 Arkansas – Awful defense against Auburn, but the good news is Ryan Mallett appears to be fine for the Ole Miss game. Need this win at home this week, and should get it if they play well.
5-1 West Virginia – Nice win over South Florida last week, and close loss to LSU remains the only blemish on the record so far.
5-2 Mississippi State – Even if Florida is struggling, going into the Swamp and earning that hard-fought win was extremely impressive.
4-2 Texas – First team to look like they belonged on the field with Nebraska this season, they earned this win with outstanding defense. Five of last six at home, winning out isn’t out of the question.
5-1 Kansas State – Completely destroyed rival Kansas on the road Thursday night. Were quietly putting together a very solid season, but that win was pretty loud.
5-2 USC – Crushed Cal at home, and Matt Barkley is starting to live up to all of the hype. Week off to prepare for Oregon, should be lots of fireworks in that one.

Dropped Out: Nevada (#18), Air Force (#22), Michigan (#23), Florida (#24), Oregon State (#25)
