Rank Up/Down Record Team
1 7-0 Oregon – Assuming they can get through a tough game at USC this week, the Ducks are in prime position to run the table.
3 8-0 Auburn – Win over LSU reminds us they can win games with both offense and defense. Can’t take Ole Miss lightly; should be an easy one for them, but only their third road game of the year.
2 6-0 Boise State – Win over Virginia Tech is nice, but as long as Oregon and Auburn stay undefeated, it is hard to keep making a case for Boise State to be at the top.
8-0 TCU – They continue to crush teams on both sides of the ball; can not wait for the TCU vs. Utah showdown in Utah in two weeks.
4 8-0 Michigan State – Thrilling come-from-behind win over Northwestern last week, and if they can pull off the win in Iowa this week, all signs point to an undefeated season.
7-1 Alabama – Back on track with a big win at Tennessee; they now have a week off to prepare for their road game against LSU.
10 7-0 Missouri – With that comfortable win over Oklahoma, Missouri appears to be for real. But four of last five come on the road, including Nebraska this week; we’ll soon find out just how real they are.
7-0 Utah – They continue to crush teams on both sides of the ball; can not wait for the TCU vs. Utah showdown in Utah in two weeks. (De ja vu, right?)
2 7-1 Wisconsin – Great win in a thrilling game at Iowa. 11-1 season looking quite realistic at this point.
7-1 Ohio State – Nice bounce-back blowout win over Purdue, but it doesn’t help take the sting off.
8 6-1 Oklahoma – Failed first true road test against Missouri. Still alive for a Big 12 Title, but road games at Baylor and Oklahoma State down the road look scarier now.
6-1 Stanford – Defense did nothing to ease anyone’s mind against Washington State last week. Will have to be better this week against Jake Locker at Washington.
6 7-1 LSU – Kept it close against Auburn, but luck finally ran out on the Tigers. Up next after the week off is a showdown with Alabama.
1 6-1 Nebraska – Offense bounced back from loss over Texas with great game in Oklahoma State. They’ve actually been worse at home this season than on the road, and will need to bring their best this week against Missouri.
1 6-1 Florida State – A win at NC State this week would give the Seminoles a strangle hold on the ACC Atlantic.
2 6-1 Arizona – Very impressive win over Washington last week. After road game against UCLA this week, the schedule to end the season is brutal for the Wildcats
2 5-2 South Carolina – Picked up first road win of the season at Vandy last week, and should get another win this week at home against Tennessee.
2 5-2 Arkansas – Should be an easy one at home against Vandy this week, and then a key game at South Carolina the following week.
6 5-2 Iowa – Heartbreaking loss to Wisconsin put a serious damper on Iowa’s Rose Bowl hopes.
4 6-1 Oklahoma State – Tough loss to Nebraska last week, but the Cowboys fought hard. Still control their own destiny in the Big 12 South.
1 6-2 Mississippi State – Uglier game than it had to be against UAB, but a win is a win. Will have to be sharper against Kentucky this week to improve to 7-2.
5-2 Miami – Big win over North Carolina reminds us that Miami can’t be totally written off in the ACC just yet.
6-2 Virginia Tech – Boise State and James Madison losses now firmly in the past, Virginia Tech is now in their standard mid-to-late season form.
1 5-2 USC – Had a week off to prepare for Oregon; pulling off the upset at home would be HUGE for this program.
6-2 Baylor – Anyone who forgot about Robert Griffin after his injury-shortened 2009 campaign has been reminded of his talent this year.

Dropped Out: West Virginia (#21), Texas (#23), Kansas State (#24)
